What is V-Play.tv and how does it work?
V-Play.tv is an entirely digital platform designed to handle and protect content from ingest to distribution.

Built around the Adobe® Flash Media Rights Management Server, our worldwide content delivery network and our custom built content delivery and management system, V-Play.tv creates and distributes a custom encrypted version of your content for use in one of our tailored Adobe® Air applications.

Once your content is encrypted and distributed on V-Play.tv, we act as a distribution portal for allowing public access and purchase of your content.


How do I make money?

V-Play.tv currently offers content creators and producers … avenues to income generation from their content through our range of different services on offer. We differentiate user access to paid or unpaid V-Play.tv content by broadcasting it across a number of virtual channels.

We offer a free to access channel called V-Play.tv Silver where users are able to watch, download and share V-Play.tv content for free. For a content creator or producer, putting some sample productions in V-Play.tv Silver is a great way to attract more viewership to your content in a pay-to-access channel.

V-Play.tv Gold is our most basic pay-to-access channel, offering a wide array of diverse and interesting content to the user for a small monthly fee. If you have one-off items of interest, or are just starting out in digital distribution, V-Play.tv Gold is the channel for you.

With a subscription to V-Play.tv Gold, the user is able to access all of content in that channel, subject to your business rulings. For instance, let’s say you had a feature documentary you wanted to distribute online to assist your sales that content on DVD.  You can limit use access to that content by only allowing Gold users to download and play your content only once but you promote the online store where they can purchase the title in the More Information screen. This will assist viewability and build interest in your product, which will result in more DVD sales.

Alternatively, you can allow your digital content to be freely accessed and played as many times as people like over the course of the month, resulting in your content possessing a higher percentage of the total monthly playcount. But why is that important? Easy.

Here at V-Play.tv we pay content creators and producers based on their content’s contribution to the total monthly playcount. We then divide the total user revenue generated that month and distribute it out to the content creators and producers based on their playcount percentage*.  So while having a lower playcount and a higher number of DVD sales may seem optimal at first, once the user revenue grows and grows it may become more profitable to consider adjusting your content access rulings for a larger slice of the pie!

Is there scale for growth beyond Gold?

V-Play.tv Gold is only the beginning of the services we can offer you to assist you with digital distribution. We have designed our system to allow for scale as interest in your content – or the content library itself – increases in size.

Stepping above V-Play.tv Gold, we enable you to create your own channel for users to subscribe to with V-Play.tv. Think of this like the packaging you currently do at home with Pay-TV – V-Play.tv works in a similar way.

For an additional monthly fee users may subscribe to your channel, both Gold and your channel or a combination of other channels on offer. There is a fee incurred for establishing and creating channels, so please contact us for more information. But having your own channel means setting you own rules. With a channel, you can book and sell advertising to run pre-roll, post-roll or even during content. It is your channel and it is up to you.

But what if you don’t want to share. What if you want to utilize all of the power and security of a designated V-Play.tv channel, but want your users to only see your content? Well you sound like you could use one of our tailored Air applications.
